What an incredible weekend we have had so far! We have been invaded by 9 talented, kind, southern Texas Bible College students! They have given up their weekend to come and help New Life host our community block party. It was a beautiful day (meaning only 10 mile per hour winds) and we had a wonderful time. We had live music, games, prizes and of course food.
The TBC students were so talented and we enjoyed listening to a full band!
The kids had fun in the bounce house. T-man and Jacks were many different superheros in a big castle.
Bringing back childhood memories doing sand art.
After the block party we went to Edmond Memorial High school and did a short prayer walk. We have hear many sad stories and devastation that has happened in students lives at that school and we felt it would be good to surround the school with prayer.
After a full day of work, we headed downtown. Many of the students have not been to OKC and we want to share the history and our passion we have for our city.
We finally decided we were dehydrated and famished so we headed to Bricktown. On our way, we passed by the CHK arena and they were able to see the Thunder highlights.
We couldn't help but stop and take good pictures along the way.
Aftereating stuffing ourselves at Chelino's, we took a short cut back to the cars through the Devon Tower. We discovered, thanks to the very nice security guard on duty, the center spot of the rotunda that only the person standing there can hear themselves echo. I have walked through there many times and never knew it was there! It is the most unique thing ever. I tried to catch the reactions of a couple of them.
We couldn't leave downtown without talking a walk through the bombing memorial. They were amazed at the story as many of them were not aware of the event that took place.

Well all I can say is goodnight! My heart is full, my feet hurt and I am rather sunburn from the day. I coudn't imagine this weekend could have gone any better. We are excited for our service tomorrow and anxious for them to come back and visit soon!
Goodnight OKC!!
