The Weekend!

I close out my evening full of joy and peace. My heart is overwhelmed with emotions from the weekend.  My wonderful mother-in-law, sister-in-law and myself drove to Kansas City on Friday evening to attend a wedding on Saturday of a very special couple, Daniel and Marissa. My Saturday started out early with breakfast with some of my dearest friends.  I was so touched by the gesture of love that was shown by friends who would get up early on a Saturday morning and spend time with me.  We had a GREAT time of talking about children (what else do mothers talk about when they are AWAY from their children), church, memories and other endless topics. I was truly blessed that day and count my blessings for having such close and sweet friends. Love you all. Madison and Trey also got to see a few of their buddies at the wedding that afternoon.

True friendships that I hope will last for a lifetime!

I also got to see, for a brief moment, my family from Tulsa.  Hard to believe that I only live an hour and a half from them now but seem to have only seen them a couple of times.  Love my family and thankful for close relationships.
The wedding was that afternoon and what a beautiful and sweet wedding it was!  True love was displayed along with TRUE commitment to our God almighty.  God was most definitely the center of the whole ceremony.  I am so proud of Marissa! I have seen her grow from a young child to a beautiful,   Godly young woman. God is going to use the couple in a mighty way and no doubt know there is a great future ahead of them.
I couldn't have asked for a better way to end my weekend but to have an incredible service at New Life.  We have started our Sunday School classes and God has confirmed from when we started them last Sunday through today that we are going places.  Going into the service today, I was exhausted (very quick weekend with lots of travel time involved.) I had some joy and some heartache over the weekend so my mood was a little phlegmatic.  My lesson for the adult class was on finding a balance between what we possess (More to Life Bible Study Series.) It reminded us that the greatest thing we possess is our salvation. We must guard our hearts from getting caught up in the things we own. Matthew 6:19-34 is such a powerful passage of scripture. Our true treasures are in heaven, NOT here on earth. God tells us not to worry about the things HE has already promised to supply. Worrying about the future wastes time and show a lack of trust in God. MY trust is going to be in God and not my earthly goods.
My spirit was already lifted after class but then worship service happened! New Life is on its way to a breakthrough! Kim sang "Your Great Name" and brought the house down! ALL we have to do is call on the name of JESUS when we are in need. Bro. Whalen reminded us that the TRUTH IS TRUTH! Doesn't matter what popular opinion is, we MUST stand on the Word of God and know it is true. God is so good and we are expecting great things to continue to happen in Edmond. Revival is here!
I better wrap it up. I could go all day on the great things of God and the many blessings but strange thing is, my son is actually ASKING when he can go to bed. Never had that happen before. Not sure how to react. =)  goodnight to all and I pray you have a blessed Monday!
