Pinterest! Pinterest! Pinterest!

I was just looking at the calendar yesterday and it shocked me at how fast this year has gone by!  I can't believe it is already the middle of November.  It has been a great incredible year.  God has done so many things for us here in Edmond.  We have had ups and downs but wouldn't change any of it.  I could tell story after story but back to the calendar.  The holidays are approaching we are celebrating with the hubs side of the family in a few weeks and we are hosting Christmas at our home.  I was very thrilled to be asked and decided I needed some new holiday decor.  Well I picked up my Ipad, pulled up the white app with the big red P in the middle, PINTEREST!!  Whoever thought of pinterest is a genius!  Anyways, I got to looking through for some Fall and Christmas ideas.
Last night we hosted our first fall party here at the house.  If you knew us back in day when we lived in KC, you know that we love to have holiday  any kind of party at our house. We love the fellowship and laughter.  I needed to come up with some decor and food for the party. I had two pumpkins from Halloween that were still good and I didn't really know what to do with them.

Pinterest idea #1: make cake stand out of the pumpkins. So I grabbed the big butcher knife and chopped off the top of each pumpkin.  I found two small silver platters and placed on top. Made the perfect stands to put small food on AND made for great decor.

Pinterest idea #2:  I had a mustard color sweater that from wear had a hole in one of the elbows.  Just learning to sew this year, I cut the sleeves off to make it a three quarter length sleeved shirt.  I saw people pin ideas of taking sweater sleeves and putting them around clear vases.  So I took the sleeves, two Dollar Store clear vases, added some sticks from outside and voila! Great fall decor!

Pinterest idea #3:  For our fall party, I enlisted the help of my friend Elise.  She loves to decorate and most of all she LOVES pinterest just as much as I do. So I thought we made the perfect team.  We needed some fun new fall themed food ideas.  Sad to say, I have never made pinwheels, so I decided to try them out.  We also wanted to very different dessert ideas.  Elise made some pumpkin bars skinny pumpkin bars.  She made them with applesauce and they were wonderful!  I also found Apple Nachos!  Very easy and very tasty. Needless to say, Pinterest helped us pull off a successful Fall Festival!

Now that the fall party is over, I am ready to focus on Christmas! Going back to the celebrating at my home, the theme I chose this year is Winter Woodland.  I couldn't help myself but start creating today!  I have watched many people post on Facebook pictures of them having their Christmas decor up and I thought I better get with it.  Here is a sneak peek at some items for my themed Christmas decor, all from pinterest, go figure.

Well, I believe that is enough for tonight!  Thank you for letting me share my pinterest obsession with you.   Do you have a pinterest obsession?  Any great ideas you would like to share with me? I am open for some more suggestions!!
