It's Monday!

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Ours was filled with activities, as if that is something new! The best and most important thing was that it was filled with spending time with family, church family and natural family. Today my heart is overwhelmed and overjoyed.  We are coming upon the holidays and it is very easy to forget the real meaning.  So many in the retail industry tend to pass right over Thanksgiving and move straight in the commercialization of the Christmas season.  There is so much to be thankful for! We should be thankful always in all things. Everyday be thankful for the good things AND the bad.

Family is so important.  Having a solid support system around you makes life a little easier and definitely more exciting. I am so thankful that my little family of 4 has a great support system all around us. We have our natural family and our New Life church family along with many others around the world of friends we know and care for.

To our natural family: thank you for standing beside us from the beginning of our pastoral journey. It was hard at times and good at many others. We wouldn’t have been able to survive without a shoulder to lean on and a listening ear.

Families, take time to sit down together for dinner at the table. There are so many times where life can be so busy and it is VERY easy to scatter and all go separate ways during dinner.  We are all guilty of it. But make this a time that electronics are turned off and you find out about how the day went for everyone.  We started something with Maddie G & T-man a few years ago. We do not do it every evening at dinner but we ask them what their roses and thorns were for the day.  Roses are the good things that happened and thorns are the bad things that happened.  This gets them talking about their day and many times it turns into a great teaching moment.  Instill in your kids what is important.

Psalms 128: 3-4

"Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your son will be like olive shoots around your table. Thus is the man blessed who fears the Lord."

To our New Life family: you are amazing!  It has been a tough year but thank you for hanging in there and always supports RD & I.  We could name each one of you along with something that you bring to NL. You work hard to keep the campus looking nice, you sacrifice your time for special events/services, you trust and believe in us when things look bleak. We cherish your support and love.  The song, “I Need You to Survive” by Hezekiah Walker comes to mind. Each member of the church is important and we all need each other.

Ecclesiastes 4: 10-12

"If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. but how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

I encourage you, if you do not have a home church, find one!

Hebrews 10:25

"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the day approaching."

During the month of November, New Life is celebrating Family. We are talking about what family means to us, our family traditions and celebrating spending time together.  This is going to be a great month and I am super excited about that is going to happen!

On a side note, head over to “Projects” tab and see a little bit about what projects I am working on.

Well thank you for allowing me to share my heart today.  Until next time……..
